Girish Karnad is a prolific name in Indian writing. The demise of Karnad in June10,2019 was a great loss. He was an actor, film director, creative writer and social activist.In the regime of the BJP government the term 'Urban Naxal' became very popular.Unfortunatly ,the term was also used for the name of Girish Karnad because he was the spokesperson of deprived people and weaker section of society.He never tried to own the faith of ruling party .When Indira Gandhi imposed emergency upon India,Girish raised his voice in favour of democracy.Even, in the last phase of life he remained rebellious and challenged the authority of the state in a democratic way.We all are Indians with many more differences of opinion.It does not mean that the people having differences of opinion, are anti- national.He stood firmly with this conviction.It is his first death anniversary. On the occasion of his first death anniversary ,we feel honoured to pay our warm tribute to the great dramatist and theater artist of our nation.
I pay my glowing tribute to the late Mr.Girish Karnad on his first death anniversary.He was undoubtedly a multi-talented figure who made his presence felt in the field of film and literature as a promising actor and writer.we miss him too deeply today for his wonderful contribution to the various fields.His sad demise can never be compensated .May his soul always glitter like a radiant star in Heaven.

The whole society would be indebted to him forever. Alot of thanks to you Dr.Mishra for setting light to an earthen of remembrance in the form of your warm toned writing on the eve of death anniversary of this majestic figure.
